Dating back to 1860 Mr. Bouzilleau was the owner of Château Mylord. 10 years later, Mr. Bouzilleau’s cousin Mr. Bouey bought the chateau as a dowry for his daughter  who was married to  Mr. Maurice Large. in 1920, Mr. Maurice Large has Château Mylord and Chateau Canet , while the existing buildings house completed in 1922.
In 1931, at the outbreak of the Second World War, the tranquility of the chateau was disturbed, as Mr. Maurice Large’s son Mr. Yves Large joined the war. Sadly, Mr. Yves Large was jailed for 5 years in a German prison camp . On his return to the chateau in 1946 the scars of this imprisonment badly affected Mr Large’s character as he became quiet and introvert and no longer his jovial previous self. In 1970, Yves’s two sons Alain and Michael  Large inherited the family business, and began to sell his wines through the Bordeaux negoce worldwide besides sales in France, this wine was also exported to Canada, USA, Ireland and Europe etc..
Now known as Chateau Milord it is located in the north of Bordeaux in the Entre-Deux-Mers region,  and covers an area of 44 hectares(30 hectares red, 15 hectares white). Calcareous clay hills are located in the village of Grezillac, overlooking the Dordogne River Valley, where the southern part of the Chateau is about 10 km from the famous historical town of Saint-Emilion. Chateau Milord is next to the famous Château Bonnet owned by the legendary Mr. Andre Lurton who famously founded the Pessac Leognan AOC , with more than 600 hectares of vineyards and wineries, and Château Bonnet remains his residence. The Lurton family is one of Bordeaux’s most prestigious wine families and his nephew Pierre Lurton is the first to take charge of two famous grands crus classés chateaux – Château d’Yquem and Château Cheval Blanc. He is a talented winemaker. In Bordeaux they are the largest Wine family with more than twenty family members, of which one of them, Francois, manages 30 properties in Bordeaux. Perhaps the most outstanding member is Pierre Lurton who also has his own property – Chateau Marjosse, just next to Chateau Milord. The Lurton family follows a fine anthology of love and care for each piece of vineyard, and many years of ownership as here at  Chateau Milord where we share the same area.
Chateau Milord is made of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon ,  ,Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle gapes etc. They produce  red, white and rosé  wine, excellent quality! Since the ninety’s, Milord has received many awards! In recent years, the 2009 ,   the  famous Wine critic Jim Nicholson and Robert Parker hailed it as the most representative of Bordeaux Wine and the best value for money :
Ever since we shipped the 2009 vintage of Mylord, which Jim Nicholson described as “simply the best value Bordeaux I have ever purchased”, sales have rocketted, such is its delicious blackberry fruit and silky finish.
Top wine commentator Robert Parker agrees with Jim referring to Mylord’s value for money in glowing terms “It is an excellent example of how much bang one can get for the buck” (www.eRobertParker.com, Apr 2010).
“A richly fruity, uncomplicated, consumer friendly Bordeaux that has garnered a lot of admirers over recent vintages (the 2005 was beautiful), this offering reveals loads of strawberry, black cherry and wild raspberry fruit intermixed with loamy soil notes, and virtually no oak. Supple and round, it is best consumed over the next 1-2 years. 85-87 pts.” (eRobertParker.com, May 2012)
